Our Dogs

Irie:
Irie is a strong powerful beautiful blond Golden. She is very athletic, well muscled and moves with effortless, powerful, ground covering stride. She has a strong level topline and a striking presence when both moving and standing. Her down and back is solid and converges to a centerline when moving. She could have a little more sternum. As with many Goldens I would like to have a little better shoulder lay. This lack of angel in the front does not restrict her movement as she reaches and drives with powerful ground covering stride. She as full dentition and very dark pigment around her eyes and nose.

Irie is proving herself to be one of the smartest Golden Retrievers I have trained. Two of her favorite things are retrieving just about anything (including birds) and going on long runs with Janet and I. She is a loving family pet and gets along with all the other dogs and people at our home. She is eager to try new games and will make up some of her own.

Irie earned her championship with very little effort. She finished with 3 majors including winners bitch at a Golden Retriever Specialty. A few weeks after she earned her championship she also earned a specialty Best of Opposite Sex. Now that she has her championship I am training her both for the field and in obedience. She is a natural in the field and loves to train.

Clyde:
Our basic breeding strategy is always to match type with the sire and dam while never compromising the health or temperament of our line. A tremendous amount of attention is always given to studying pedigrees for dogs with longevity of life and preserving the Golden temperament. When we find potential stud dogs that meet these very important criteria we then begin to match a stud dogs strengths to our bitch.

Clyde has an awesome front, masculine head, and a great outline. He sets under well, has great sternum and like Irie is very strong and powerful. Clyde’s owner loves his temperament. Like Ire Clyde finished very easy. He is not Specialed very much as he is a family pet first and spends his summers in Canada and winters in Florida. Clyde has earned a Canadian BIS and a few BOB here in the USA.

Jeff Chaffin handled Clyde to his championship and has complemented him on his great movement and outstanding temperament. Jeff has a good eye for dogs and felt this would be a great breeding. Janet and I are excided about how well Irie and Clyde match up on type.

We anticipate the litter to have bone, substance, great coat, and powerful movement. They will not be small Goldens but let me stress we breed to stay within the standard height and weight. Right now I feel Goldens are on the average a little small and this will not be the case with this litter. We expect the litter to be a little darker in color than Irie as both Irie’s mother and Clyde the sire are dark Goldens.

Last winter we tried this breeding using frozen seamen and only got one puppy. She is a self assured, happy go lucky showy pup. She is everything I had hoped for and that is why we repeated this breeding. You can see Kismet on our web site.

The litter was born on June 19, 2004. She has 3 boys and 4 girls and at 5 weeks old they are very strong healthy good looking pups. Irie is doing well and we will update this as the puppies develop and grow.
