Tommy is an outstanding representation of the breed standard.
In his initial show career he has made the conformation ring
look easy. Tommy finished exclusively Breeder/Owner handled
before the age of 2. Tom’s first time in the ring, (on his
6 month birthday), he went RWD. As a puppy, he has gone RWD
at a number of Specialties including the 2002 Central Regional.
The day after the 2002 Western Regional he went RWD from the
6-9 puppy class.
Tom has earned 3 BISS and 3 BOSS. I feel this is a great
accomplishment as a puppy because the judges are typically
breeders and I very much respect their opinions.
Tom finished in May 2003. We began “specialing” him in the
summer of 2003. One of his first weekends out he earned a
Group 1 and Group 2. As of February 2004, Tommy has earned
12 BOB, 8 Group placements, including 3 group wins, and a
specialty BOB. He earned his Show Dog Hall of Fame title in
February 2004.
I feel Tom’s strongest points are, balance, strong top-line,
great head, and very functional coat. Tom can get wet, shake
and in a very short period of time be dry. His head is strong
with very friendly, intelligent expression and dark pigment.
His movement is clean with balance reaching and driving. Coming
and going Tom does converge to a centerline. As a young dog
he earned 3rd in the Bred by Class at the GRCA National. The
breeder judge Connie Gerstner-Miller commented on his showy
attitude and that he is,” moderate, moderate, moderate!”
Tom’s has a great temperament. He is very calm around the
house but ready to show with attitude. He loves puppies and
is always sticking his head into the whelping box whenever
puppies are around. Tommy is being trained in obedience and
should easily earn his CD within the next year. We plan on
doing some field and agility with Tom. Since he does show
promise as a Special, showing will consume a large part of
Tom’s time.
Both Tom’s parents are outstanding sire and dam. I showed
Dylan as a Special and can tell you he is a very outgoing
dog earning a Group win, Specialty BOB and a 2003 National
JAM. Dylan is a very solid worker in the field and has earned
his Senior Hunter title exclusively handled by his proud owner.
Kyra, Tom’s dam is very athletic, balanced and is loaded with
attitude. She is one of the best bitches we have bred.
Tom is young and just getting started as time goes on I am
sure Tommy’s Bio will grow.
